BLACK PEOPLE EXIST IN THE FUTURE Book 10 - Alternate Realities: BLACK JOY

BLACK PEOPLE EXIST IN THE FUTURE Book 10 - Alternate Realities: BLACK JOY

With all that’s going on with current events, I almost changed the topic of this post. The energy from last night to this morning felt so chaotic & tense. But when, especially in the last 3 years and it’s whole existence really, has this world not felt like that 🥴 So in keeping with tradition, today we’ll be speaking about the way transformative power of BLACK JOY.

If you know me personally, you know that in the right setting and if I’m in the right mood I am a whole clown. I love to laugh. A good laugh leaves me feeling similarly light headed to when I receive a download from Spirit or wake up from a dream message. Laughter is spiritual for me & it’s probably my number 1 healing modality. And as a Scorpio with 12th house placements my humour is pretty morbid. One thing my friends and I always say is come hell or high water “we ago run two joke”! I’m absolutely certain that black peoples ability to laugh and find joy in the midst of it all is how we remain resilient.

The way black people use laughter, movement & dance in all the multitude of ways across the diaspora actively heals us. Cultivating joy is an integral part of any healing process. If we were suddenly unable to access our sources of joy we would fall into despair. Our joy takes us somewhere else. It actively helps to release trauma. It connects us. It makes our ancestral connections tangible. It gives us the strength to fight another day. It quite literally alters our reality. Our joy sustains us.

I love to see black people laugh. I love to see black people dance. I love to see black people in fellowship & experiencing the care of joy.

Take a second to tap into your personal sources of joy today. There is a lot of fear in the air. Your nervous system will be grateful for the recalibration.

Love.
