Inner child work is a necessary part of the healing journey. Our inner child needs us to give them the things we weren’t able to get from our childhood caregivers. This work can take many forms. From intense shadow work, processing trauma with or without a therapist, actually going to therapy to eating our favourite childhood foods, watching our favourite childhood shows or achieving our childhood dreams. Any of these things can transport us back to our childhood and create a new reality where we were always there to support the little versions of ourselves through life which will feed into a different experience for our current selves.
